WMHS Baccalaureate Service - Wednesday, May 22, 6pm
OAG will be hosting the Wildwood Middle High School Baccalaureate Service on Wednesday, May 22, 6pm. Graduating seniors and their families are invited to come join us for a community service honoring their achievements. There will be several graduates who will participate in the service, such as a special song, prayer, or Scripture reading. We will be led in worship by the worship team from Hope Community Church, and our guest speaker is Pastor Andrew Krop from Oxford Baptist Church. This is a public service, so everyone is welcome. There will be reserved seating for the graduates, but the rest of the sanctuary is open to all. However, regular classes will still be held for kids and teens at 7pm, and those riding on the bus will go straight to class.
Graduate Recognition Service - Sunday, May 26
Our high school and college graduates for the Spring of 2019 will be recognized and celebrated on Sunday, May 26, in the 10am service. All graduates that attend OAG and their families are invited to come. We will play a short video with pictures of them growing up and recognize them during the service, as well as give them a gift from the church. There will also be a table setup in the foyer where people from the church are encouraged to stop by and congratulate the grads, and perhaps bless them with a monetary gift. To make sure we don’t leave anyone out, we ask that 12-15 pictures representing the graduates from birth to senior portraits be provided to Pastor Daniel by Sunday, May 12, preferably in digital format (however, any usable format will be accepted). See Pastor Daniel for details.
Pastor Craig and the Ignited Children’s Ministries Team always puts together a Vacation Bible School every Summer. This year it will be on Sunday-Wednesday evening, June 16-19, from 6:30-8:30. It will be for the kids, but we always need as many teen and adult volunteers as possible. We would love for you to come help us out. And, the hours volunteered during this VBS can count towards Community Service hours needed for scholarships or other reasons. Details about the event, child registration, and volunteer sign-ups can be find here.
The Shores Outreach - June 24-28
The Shores Assembly of God in Ocala has a large and active Summer Program for neighborhood kids. Our church takes a team to do a morning outreach 1 week each summer. It is almost like a VBS, with games, crafts, music, and a high energy chapel service. Our teenagers are vital to making this happen. And, the hours volunteered during this VBS can count towards Community Service hours needed for scholarships or other reasons. This year, we will be doing Monday-Friday, June 24-28. It’s usually several hours in the morning, with us finishing up and grabbing lunch around noon before heading back to the church. The exact times haven’t been nailed down yet, but those details will be coming soon.
If you would like to sign-up to volunteer, please use the form below.
Youth Camp - July 1-5
Youth Camp is the greatest week of summer! Students will spend a week at Masterpiece Gardens in Lake Wales, FL. During the day, campers are divided into teams (along with their group from the church), and they will compete in all kinds of great games and competitions. This builds unity and camaraderie. But the best part is the evening services. Every night, the campers will have a high energy service, including dynamic worship and an amazing speaker. These are life-changing for teenagers!
Our costs for camp are $220 per camper. However, due to the generosity of our community and church, we are able to bring that cost down quite a bit. In addition, many students have participated in our fundraisers or checked-out a box of candy to sell on their own to help pay for camp. Therefore, the cost will vary depending on the amount of money raised by the camper. See Pastor Amanda to make payment arrangements. Our goal is to not let the cost prevent anyone from attending camp, as best as we are able to.
The Camp applications were due on Sunday, May 12. We can still take applications, but they are not guaranteed a spot, as the camp fills up quickly. Deposits to hold spots are $25 for students who participated in our candy sales fundraiser back in February, and $50 for all other students.
We will leave for camp on Monday morning, July 1. Meet at the church at 7:45am. A parent information sheet can be found by clicking here.

Youth Church - Sunday Nights, 5:30-8pm in the gym
Our main event every week is our Youth Service. We open the gym at 5:30pm and let the students come and hang out for about half an hour. At 6pm we have group prayer, and at 6:15pm we start our Youth Service. Designed from the ground up with teens in mind, this is a Church Service just for them. We have games, videos, and a cafe. But, more importantly, we have a Youth Band for live worship, and a Bible Study. It's a great time hanging out in the presence of God and learning about His Word.
Club 612 - Friday nights, 6-9pm in the gym
It was our observation that there wasn't much to do around here for students on Friday nights except perhaps get into trouble, so we opened up our church gym to give them a safe place to hang out and play basketball. Around 7:30 or so we stop and do a short devotion and prayer before we get the games going again. There is usually a free snack, and our cafe offers sodas and other snack foods for purchase. This is our foot in the door of the lives of students who may not come to church for a Bible Study.
Basketball Clinic - Friday Nights, 6:30-7:30pm in the gym (During Club 612)
Every week during Club 612, we have a free basketball clinic facilitated by a former NCAA certified coach. This is a free clinic for any beginning and intermediate students in grades 6-12 that would like to come. There is no registration required (other than the standard check-in for Club 612), and no commitment. Students can just show up and participate. Coach Chris will lead them through proper warm-ups, dribbling, handling, passing, and shooting drills, and live game assessments.
