NO FILTER: LIVING REAL IN A FAKE WORLD

Preached to: Middle & High School Students

Speaker: Pastor Amanda Hahn

In a world full of filters, highlight reels, and pressure to fit in, it’s easy to feel like you have to be someone you’re not. This week in Amplify Youth, we talked about what it really means to live with integrity—choosing to be real, honest, and consistent in every area of life, no matter who’s watching. The truth is, following Jesus isn’t just about what we say—it’s about how we live.

We looked at how Jesus modeled integrity perfectly in a moment where He was being tested and pressured to fail. Instead of giving in, He stood firm in truth, showing us that integrity means doing what’s right—even when it’s hard or uncomfortable. Scripture reminds us in 1 Timothy 4:12 that we can set an example through our speech, actions, love, faith, and purity—no matter our age.

We also talked through real-life situations students face every day—social media pressure, group projects, cheating, and handling rumors. Each scenario came down to one question: Will I choose what’s easy, or what’s right? Because every decision we make shapes our character and our relationship with God.

The good news? Even when we mess up, God gives us a way forward. When we confess and turn back to Him, He forgives us and helps us grow. Integrity isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being real, taking responsibility, and choosing to follow Jesus in every situation.

This week’s challenge is simple but powerful: identify where you feel pressure, make a plan before you face it, and if you’ve already fallen short, bring it to God and start fresh. Living with integrity might not always be easy—but it’s always worth it.

    • Doing what you say you will do

    • Integrity = walking the walk, not just talking the talk

    2. Jesus Modeled Integrity (Mark 12:13–17)

    • Pharisees tried to trap Jesus

    • Jesus didn’t give in to pressure or flattery

    • He chose truth over popularity

    • Lived with responsibility AND put God first

    3. Integrity Leads to a Secure Walk (Proverbs 10:9)

    • Living God’s way brings confidence and stability

    • Dishonesty leads to exposure and consequences

    • Age doesn’t limit your example

    • Live it out in:

      • Speech

      • Conduct

      • Love

      • Faith

      • Purity

    5. Integrity is Tested in Real Life

    • Social media pressure
