WHY I SHARE MY FAITH
Preached to: Middle & High School Students
Speaker: Pastor Amanda Hahn
This week in our WHY: Own Your Faith series, we talked about WHY we share our faith. When something truly changes your life, it’s natural to talk about it—and the same is true with Jesus. In Matthew 28:19–20, Jesus calls every follower to go and make disciples, reminding us that faith was never meant to stay private. Students were challenged to see their everyday environments—school, teams, and friendships—as opportunities to reflect Jesus and share their story. Our prayer is that they would have the courage to live out their faith and invite others to experience the life-changing hope of Christ.
Next Steps:
1. Write down ONE name.
2. Pray for them daily this week.
3. Look for one opportunity to love, serve, or invite.
Faith was never meant to stay private - it was meant to be shared.

INTRO: GOOD THINGS GET SHARED
When something changes your life, you talk about it.
Examples:
A great restaurant
A funny video
A new song
A game you love
Question: If Jesus has changed your life, why would you keep Him quiet?
BIG IDEA
Faith was never meant to stay private.
KEY SCRIPTURE
Matthew 28:19–20
Jesus’ command to go and make disciples. This was not a suggestion.
Not just for pastors or missionaries.
It was given to every follower of Jesus.
3 REASONS WE SHARE OUR FAITH
1. Because Jesus Told Us To
Obedience to Jesus.
God didn’t save you just to get you into heaven.
He saved you so others could find Him too.
2. Because We Are Not Ashamed
Romans 1:16
The Gospel is not just advice.
It is the power of God to save.
If it changed your life, why hide it?
3. Because We Are Empowered
Acts 1:8
Jesus didn’t say we must know everything.
He said we would be witnesses.
A witness simply tells what they have seen.
HOW WE SHARE OUR FAITH
Your Story Matters
Common student fears:
“My testimony isn’t dramatic.”
“I don’t know enough.”
“I don’t have all the answers.”
But your story could be:
God helping you through anxiety
Finding peace in chaos
Experiencing forgiveness
Seeing God restore something broken
Evangelism is relational, not aggressive.
WHAT SHARING FAITH LOOKS LIKE
Not:
Arguing online
Standing on a lunch table preaching
Having every answer
Instead:
Inviting someone to youth
Praying for a friend
Saying “I’ll pray for you”
Living differently
Loving people consistently
Sometimes the loudest sermon is consistency.
PURPOSE
What if:
The class you're in
The team you're on
The friends you have
Isn't random?
What if it's assignment?
Stop asking:
What does my faith do for me?
Start asking:
Who can my faith impact?
BIG IDEA (REPEAT)
Faith was never meant to stay private.
ALTAR RESPONSE
Think of one person:
A friend
A teammate
A classmate
A family member
Ask yourself:
Have I prayed for them?
Have I invited them?
Have I talked to them about Jesus?
Pray:
"Jesus, give me boldness. Use my story. Help me love people enough to share You."NEXT STEPS
Write down one name.
Pray for them every day this week.
Look for one opportunity to love, serve, or invite.
Closing Thought
You were not just saved from something.
You were saved for someone.

Romans 1:16 (NLT)
“For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes…”
Acts 1:8 (NLT)
